As the Nebraska Synod, we are church – together

Synod literally translates to ‘walking together’. This is how we see ourselves as 90,000 members and 230 congregations.

We are committed to that mission in our identity and our work as the Nebraska Synod. Our staff are called to particular roles to connect and resource individuals and congregations in living out that mission. Those individuals and congregations, scattered across the state, are a community whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts, doing so much more together than any could do alone.

Native Land Acknowledgment

The Nebraska Synod acknowledges and honors the Lakota Sioux, Cheyenne, Arapaho, Pawnee, Ponca, Yankton/Dakota Sioux, Omaha, Otoe and Kansa peoples upon whose ancestral homelands the synod is located, as well as all our Indigenous siblings who have and continue to care for this place—this land—and call it their home.
