Enneagram… What’s That?

Program Description

Have you heard people talking about their Enneagram number and wondered what they were talking about? This in-person workshop will open the door to the Enneagram. The Rev. Edgar Schambach is graciously offering the workshop Saturday, May 4, in Lincoln and Sunday, May 5, in Grand Island. Be sure you register for the correct date and location.

The Enneagram is more than an unusual 9-pointed diagram that has sparked popular interest today because of its psychological insights to human personality and behavior. Dating back nearly a thousand years and growing out of the contemplative traditions of Western religion, the Enneagram has become a rich body of wisdom for people to use for spiritual enlightenment on their journey in faith. Our workshop will provide an overview of key aspects of the Enneagram’s nine points and its three triads, touching on key aspects of the Enneagram not often found in popular literature. Our workshop also will share how to use the Enneagram in one’s spiritual journey.

Instructor

The Rev. Edgar Schambach has led various Enneagram workshops throughout the Nebraska Synod, where he has served as a pastor for the past 24 years. He has used the Enneagram as a tool in leadership development for church staffs and councils, as well as in faith formation with groups and individuals. He is a Concordia Seminex graduate (1977) and has served rural, small town and urban congregations of various sizes. He also serves as a spiritual director for pastoral leaders and congregational members, receiving his training from the Benedictine Peace Center in Yankton, South Dakota. Currently, he and his wife are enjoying their retirement in Grand Island. They have three children, 12 grandchildren, and at last count 16 great-grandchildren. Oh, and one cat, Jennyanydots.
