Gathering in Community: Tabitha Health

“How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings…”

Like a mother hen gathering her chicks to shelter and protect them, the ministry of Tabitha began well over a century ago, gathering those in need of care, including orphans and the elderly. The orphanage closed over 50 years ago, but Tabitha continues to gather individuals in need of eldercare and provide them with exceptional service and care. Tabitha is also building an innovative facility that will provide intergenerational housing for elderly residents and young nursing students, to the benefit of both. In this and many other ways, Tabitha continues to fulfill Jesus’ desire to gather together those in need of care and provide them with what they need to thrive.

Tabitha Health is one of the many ministries of the Nebraska Synod bringing the Word to life in service. Thank you to you and your congregation for your support!

Throughout the season of Lent, the Nebraska Synod will be lifting up various Nebraska Synod ministries and serving arms that have a connection to the upcoming Sunday text. The text referenced here is from Luke 13:31-35, the Gospel reading for Sunday, March 13 – The Second Sunday in Lent.
