Middle School Gathering 2024 – Go and… Rest!

Leaning into Nebraska Synod’s Go and… theme, the Middle School Gathering (MSG) will focus on Go and… Rest. MSG 2024 invites youth grades 6-8th grade to wrestle with what it means to rest despite the busyness of everyday life. MSG allows middle school youth and adult leaders an opportunity to  from other congregations to serve, learn, worship, and make new friends. We will explore practices that can help us ground ourselves as unique beloved children of God.

In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus invites us to to take a real rest and keep company with him. Bishop Scott Johnson will help us dig into the scripture lesson. Program for the three sites will follow a similar format each having its own flavor based on the resources of the community and congregation. Service-learning opportunities in three distinct offers participants an opportunity to learn about the work of the church, the local congregation, and the surrounding community. The weekend also includes workshops, group devotions, games, recreational activities, and worship with the local congregation along with tasty meals and time with a Synod staff member.
