Vocation and Call as PMA, Pastor or Deacon?

Program Description
Pastor Kristen Van Stee invites you to join the conversation as we explore the Lutheran grounding of vocation, call and discernment. She will provide an overview of the role and responsibilities of a Parish Ministry Associate, Minister of Word and Service and Minister of Word and Sacrament and the next steps for each of these serving opportunities.

Facilitator
Kristen Van Stee graduated from Roanoke College in Virginia in 2007 with majors in History and Spanish. She graduated from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia South Carolina in 2011 and was ordained in September 1013. She served as the pastor of Christ’s Lutheran Church in Davenport and St. James Lutheran Church in Edgar until 2017 and half-time Associate Pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne Nebraska from 2017-2020. She has been serving as a half-time Assistant to the Bishop for Mobility and Congregational Care for Northeast Nebraska since 2017. Pastor Kristen is program coordinator for the Parish Ministry Associate program and First Call learning for newly ordained deacons and pastors. She serves half-time with Churchwide working with candidacy in Region 4.

Format: This is an online opportunity. The Zoom link will be sent January 23, 2024

Target Audience: This learning opportunity is designed for curious disciples including high school
students and adults of all ages. Inviters, cheerleaders, parents and family members of potential students, congregational leaders and curious disciples are welcome.

partnership program of the Nebraska Synod, Nebraska Lutheran Campus Ministry and
Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries.
