NSHLA (Nebraska Synod Holy Land Accompaniment) Monthly Gathering

Join us in working together for justice and peace in Palestine and Israel.  Grab your lunch and log in for our monthly  zoom gathering to learn how we can walk with our siblings in the Holy Land.

The NSHLA group was formed as a journey of accompaniment with our Christian siblings in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land.  In it’s early years, accompaniment trips were made to the Holy Land. Today, as we reconvene, we look for ways to strive for justice and peace and to continue to accompany those who live in the Holy Land.

This month Adam Vander Tuig will share with us about his work with Christians for a Free Palestine, why he got involved and how you can get involved.

Adam was born and raised in small-town Nebraska to a family that includes six Lutheran pastors, his dad included. He is currently a Louisville Institute Postdoctoral Fellow working (remotely) as the Faith-Based Educator and Researcher at the Highlander Center, a 93-year-old movement school in the mountains of East Tennessee. Adam is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York (PhD), Harvard Divinity School (MDiv), Jesus College in the University of Cambridge (MPhil), and Nebraska Wesleyan University (BA). He organizes with Christians for a Free Palestine as a member of the national leadership team, facilitates base societies as a member of the Institute for Christian Socialism, and is an ordinand in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
