Grants and Possibilities for Your Faith Community
Location: The Crystal Ballroom (Saturday – 2:15 PM)
Is God inviting your congregation to take a big leap of faith, but you might just need a little help to take it? Do you have ideas for an experiment, but are not sure how you might be able to pay for it? Do your neighbors have needs that they are calling out for help with, but you’re not sure how your congregation can financially respond? Does your congregation’s building need some work to be more accessible and welcoming for all of your siblings in Christ?
If you answered ‘yes’ or even ‘maybe’ to at least one of these questions, then this workshop is for you. Over the course of an hour, you will hear about unique grant opportunities available to you and the congregations of the Nebraska Synod, as well as tips and wisdom about how to successfully write and apply for these grants.
Grant opportunities that will be explored include: Immanuel Vision Foundation grants, The CaSTLE project through Wartburg Seminary, One Another and ELCA World Hunger Grants, and the Nebraska Synod’s Krabb-Kraft Grant. Following some background possibilities about these grants, time will be shared to consider what makes a successful grant application so you will be ready to get to work with your congregation after assembly in taking the next faithful steps related to these possibilities.
