What can you do to support immigrants? What can’t you do? What does it mean to be a sanctuary? How do we help someone if they show up on our doorstep? How do we reach out and offer support in the community? How do I help my congregation to understand why this matters.
The immigration landscape is changing fast and furious and these are only a few of the questions many of us have.
In this three-hour workshop, you will learn the answers to those questions. You’ll also learn about ELCA Ammparo Migrant ministries and how your congregation can become a welcoming congregation.
There will be time for answering your questions about immigration, time for learning about immigration advocacy, time to learn how to share why it matters in your congregation and time for practice conversations and scenarios.
