Class description:
Both intentionally and unintentionally, biblical Israel is often conflated with the modern-day State of Israel. This class, facilitated by theologian and educator Dr. Adam Vander Tuig, investigates why and clarifies critical differences between one Israel and another.
Instructor: Adam Vander Tuig is a theologian and educator born and raised in rural Nebraska to a family of six Lutheran pastors, including his dad. He is currently a Louisville Institute Postdoctoral Fellow working remotely as the Faith-Based Educator and Researcher at the Highlander Center in the mountains of East Tennessee. A graduate of Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York (PhD), Harvard Divinity School (MDiv), Jesus College in the University of Cambridge (MPhil), and Nebraska Wesleyan University (BA), Adam organizes with Christians for a Free Palestine, facilitates base societies with the Institute for Christian Socialism, and is an ordinand in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He delights in his spouse and three children.
