2026 Inclusion Training

Inclusion Training Year Three: Striving for Gender and Disability Awareness.
All rostered leaders and PMA’s are required to attend this important training session. We invite and encourage you to include other congregational members such as youth directors, council presidents, administrative staff and others who want to learn, to participate. This training will focus on awareness, education, and action steps. Bringing your entire church team will help equip everyone to lead thoughtful and inclusive discussions about these critical issues.
The session will include: 
  • A continued conversation on inclusion focused on conscious and unconscious inclusion and exclusion in the church and a look at how that has changed (or not changed) through the years
  • Education on language from pronouns to people first language and terms we may hear but don’t understand
  • Exploring what scripture says about gender and disability and how to talk about that in church
  • Conversation about the ELCA social statements on human sexuality and sexism
  • Action steps: how to engage in conversation in the congregation and other next faithful steps towards in advocacy and action
We look forward to coming together to grow in understanding and strengthen our commitment to inclusion.
