My mom had this gift of remembering prompted by the fact she highlighted dates on her kitchen calendar.  She was always ministering to people who were grieving. Seeing it was 3 years ago tomorrow that Uncle Buck died she would call my Aunt Beryl.  I remember her taking Sylvia to lunch because the 24^th would have been their 40^th wedding anniversary and Sylvia would be missing John who died last year. She walked with friends who had been told nasty things like get over it, move on and let go. But Mom knew birthdays, anniversaries, surgeries, holidays and deaths needed to be marked with a friend. My mom would have been the one reaching out during the pandemic, walking with individuals who were hurting and offering prayer.

Emmaus: Lifelong Learning is pleased to have Dr. Don Eisenhauer, back by request, to help us learn how we can minister to grieving people. The 4-session course will help equip laity to partner with rostered leaders and PMAs so working together they can offer care and hope to individuals needing support. Participants will learn the definition of grief, practical ways to minister to grieving people, how to find hope in the midst of grief and explore how to develop an “End of Life Safe” church that is providing help not hindering people. You are encouraged to have a team participate to support implementation in the congregation.
