2026 Nebraska Synod “One Another” Hunger Grants

Supporting congregations and ministries as they walk with neighbors facing hunger—especially by offering healthier, more nourishing food.

About the Grants

“One Another” grants are available to congregations and synod ministries across the Nebraska Synod, ELCA, who are engaged in food or hunger ministries.

In this cycle, we especially encourage projects that improve the nutritional value of foods offered through your pantry or feeding ministry. In the U.S., over 40% of adults live with obesity, which increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, stroke, and some cancers. Your ministry can make a real difference by helping neighbors access and enjoy healthier foods.

Examples of eligible projects might include:

  • Adding fresh produce from gardens or local growers
  • Hosting on-site healthy cooking demonstrations and recipe tastings
  • Leading grocery store tours that teach how to make healthier food choices
  • Other creative ways to encourage healthy eating in your community

Grant Amount

We anticipate most grants will be $1,000.
