Inclusion Training
2025 Inclusion Training
All rostered leaders and PMA's are required to attend this important training session. We invite and encourage you to include other congregational leaders- such youth directors, council presidents, and administrative staff to participate. This training will focus on understanding privilege, recognizing internal bias, and learning how to engage in difficult conversations within our congregations and communities. Bringing your entire church team with help equip everyone to lead thoughtful and inclusive discussions about these critical issues. We will us the ELCA Social Statement on Race, Ethnicity, and Culture as our guiding framework. The session will include:
- Large group discussions on what privilege looks like and how to respond to it
- Exploration of internal biases and strategies for awareness
- Small group breakouts to practice responding to real-life scenarios from congregational and community contexts.
- Reflection on our own biases and privileges as well as those present in our congregations and communities.
We look forward to coming together to grow in understanding and strengthen our commitment to inclusion
