How do we offer spiritual leadership in times of crises, partisan polemics, and social upheaval? Exemplary leaders amidst change and disruption have demonstrated courageous conviction that brings people together, creative hope in the face of overwhelming disasters, and the ability to help faithful folks move forward. We too can inspire, challenge, and empower congregations to join God’s work of healing and new life.

Beyond the Partisan and Polemical Pale:
Creation and Care of Leaders - Arthur Boers
Recent events and circumstances demonstrate challenges of staying calm and focused amidst pressures and controversies and the difficulty of maintaining motivation and energy during on-going crises. This workshop will consider sources for developing healing and inspirational leadership, how to refresh and renew our energy.

Arthur Boers has been a small church pastor, leader of a historic congregation, and an intentional interim. He has authored a number of books, including Never Call Them Jerks: Healthy Responses to Difficult Behavior and Servants and Fools: A Biblical Theology of Leadership. His degrees include an MA in Peace Studies, MDiv and MTh in Pastoral Counseling, DMin, and MFA in Creative Writing.
