Facilitators

Pr. Brad Meyer

Pastor Brad Meyer is a retired ELCA pastor and volunteer co-facilitator for Seeking the Spirit Within. A graduate of California Lutheran University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary, he has served in the Nebraska Synod since 1991. Brad was part of the first Seeking the Spirit Within cohort and is a certified spiritual director. He also served for many years as Chair of the Advisory Board for Seeking the Spirit Within.

Reflecting on the program, he writes:
“In seminary I learned the ‘head knowledge’ for pastoral ministry. Seeking the Spirit Within introduced me to the heart and depth of my faith and spiritual connection with God. Being a Spiritual Director has had significant impact on my pastoral ministry and personal spiritual practices as I have the privilege to travel with others on their faith journey.”

David C. Pinkston, Program Director, Seeking the Spirit Within

David Pinkston is a practicing contemplative and spiritual leader who has served as an ordained minister and community leader for over 25 years, primarily in the Pasadena area. His ministry has included urban ministry, justice initiatives, and service as a touring musician.

David’s passion for spiritual direction began in 2015. He received certification through the School of Sustainable Faith and earned a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation from Portland Seminary at George Fox University in 2020. He is also certified in Spiritual Direction Supervision through the Companioning Center. David has a deep commitment to clergy care and, as a spiritual director, specializes in accompanying clergy from a wide variety of traditions.
