Inclusivity Workshop
- 10:00 am
- Thursday, June 01 to Thursday, June 01
- Younes Conference Center, Kearney, NE
The Nebraska Synod is happy to host a workshop from Inclusive Communities. Inclusive Communities is an organization out of Omaha that envisions a society that is strengthened by diversity, inclusion, respect, equity, and justice for all people.
We live in a world that has always been marked with diversity. No matter where you live in Nebraska diversity is real. Our churches reflect the diversity of cultural heritage brought to us by homesteaders and community leaders. Community dynamics have changed with people moving in and out. Congregations have changed based on the demographics. We see differences when comes to economics, disabilities, age, gender, ethnic background, color, jobs, marital status and other categories. How can we learn to recognize the unconscious bias and embrace diversity and inclusion as we strive to be a welcoming church?
Join us on June 1st, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to learn more about embracing diversity and strengthening community. Lunch is included, please include any dietary restrictions or other accommodations on your registration. Registration closes May 6th.
This training is available to anyone. Not connected to Synod Assembly.
If you have any questions please contact the Nebraska Synod office and ask for Laurel.
