Together the synods of Region 4 of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are creating opportunity to wonder and explore together. Congregations of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod, Central States Synod, Nebraska Synod, North Texas-North Louisiana Synod, Southwestern Texas Synod, and the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod, are invited. Together we will embark on an initiative experience to explore the potential of “Fresh Expressions” for the ministry that we all share.
Over the course of six months, disciples and congregations will gather together as a cohort online via Zoom to journey with and learn from Rev. Dr. Michael Adam Beck, Director of Fresh Expressions for the United Methodist Church. These monthly sessions will provide a practical toolkit, training, and resources for participating congregations.
The theory behind “Fresh Expressions” will be shared in a practical way. More than just a seminar or training, this is an initiative designed to be an equipping, empowering, and sending experience! This is for anyone, but especially for those who might consider themselves adventurers, prophets, and those who love to experiment and try new things.
The trainings will take place on the following Saturdays, 1-2:30pm Central Time:
As this is something that is meant to be experienced together, each congregation must send at least two lay members. Rostered leaders should also attend, if possible. The goal is to equip as many disciples as possible. Perhaps you might even invite your whole ministry area conference or cluster to participate together, to explore what new Fresh Expression(s) God might be bringing forth in your larger ministry context.
