Generosity Next- Spirited Generosity
Spirited Generosity: Offering Vitality in the 21st Century
Wednesday November 20th & Thursday November 21, 2019
Presented by the Ecumenical Stewardship Center
What changes have you noticed in your offerings?
How is the role of offering evolving in worship?
What new practices can bring vitality to your offerings?
These are some of the questions that will be addressed at the Ecumenical Stewardship Center (ESC) Generosity Next Conference, November 20-21, 2019.
This topic is an effort to reach a broader audience through a live streaming format. And, this will provide a way to engage more people in conversation about what is happening with the offering in their context.
This is a two-day event with the first day providing presentations onsite in Atlanta, and live streamed across the country, by four speakers, followed by open conversation around conversation starters provided by a facilitator. Presentations will be live streamed to host site locations throughout the country, including to St. Michael Lutheran in Omaha.
During conversations on Day 1, questions will emerge and these can be submitted for responses by the presenters on Day 2 as part of deeper reflection and discussion time. The presentations on Wednesday Nov. 20th will be live streamed starting at 8:15am CST, and the day will conclude by 3:30 PM CST. The presentations and learning on Thursday Nov. 21st will start at 8:00 AM CST with Q & A and conclude by 11:30 AM CST. Content from both days will be recorded and made available at a later date.
Space is limited. Thanks to the generosity of the Ecumenical Stewardship Center, the Stewardship of Life Institute, and St. Michael Lutheran Church, the Nebraska Synod is excited to host a site on the ground in Nebraska, open to 40 attendees at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Omaha. This event is open to all- lay members and leaders interested in stewardship, pastors, deacons, parish ministry associates, ecumenical partners. The only stipulation is that you must register. There is no limit on congregational group sizes, it is purely first come, first served.
There is No Cost to You. The Nebraska Synod and the Stewardship of Life Institute are making this event possible to attend at no cost to you to participate. All you need to do is get yourself to St. Michael Lutheran in Omaha to participate on the days of the conference.
Meals and Lodging will not be provided. However, there will be a lunch break time on Wednesday Nov. 20th, providing the opportunity to go and find lunch from a nearby restaurant (and there are a number of delivery options easily available too), and/or time to enjoy your lunch you packed and brought from home. Coffee and light refreshments will be available throughout the gathering on site.
