Announcing Bishop Brian Maas’ Staff Transition

After he completes his term as Bishop on August 31, Pastor Brian Maas will prepare for his transition into the role of Vice President for Mission and Spiritual Care at Immanuel, a Serving Arms ministry of the Nebraska Synod that provides housing and healthcare for seniors. In that role he will work with pastoral care providers, help to sustain Immanuel’s strong focus on its mission of “Christ-centered service to seniors, each other and the community,” assist in continuing the ministry’s close ties to the church, and undertake additional responsibilities.

Of his transition, he says, “though it’s hard to be leaving the office of bishop, this feels very much like a call to a ministry role rather than a call away from one. It’s been a blessing to serve as bishop, and I anticipate my position at Immanuel being a blessing as well. It’s a great ministry and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.” He will begin serving at Immanuel October 1.
