The Nebraska Synod Rural Ministry Task Force was created by the Synod Council and has two primary functions in the life of the Synod:
- To be a conduit of information on rural ministry to other ministries/committees in the Synod, encouraging them to factor rural ministry needs into their endeavors and resources, and to be consultants on rural ministry to the Synod's ministries and committees when there are resources to develop or review.
- To learn and share stories of effective rural ministries using the Synod website as a primary distribution method.
Accordingly, the task force has responsibility for implementing and raising funds for two programming priorities:
- A rural immersion program for seminarians and first call pastors.
- A rural internship program for seminarians.
