FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH RAISES OVER $2,685,000 IN CAMPAIGN
(Lincoln, NE) Dan Warnes, Pastor at First Lutheran Church, announced this weekend that they have raised over $2,685,000 toward their specially run “Called to Welcome” capital campaign. The campaign had as its aim raising funds to implement a building project focusing on accessibility and living out their welcoming statement:
Each person is a unique creation of God and, through grace, is a child of God. The people of First Lutheran Church welcome all because God welcomes all, without regard for race or culture, sexual orientation, gender identity or relationship status, physical or mental challenges, imprisonment, addictions, socio-economic circumstances, or anything else that too often divides us. First Lutheran Church is a spiritual community that celebrates the gifts of God that can empower us to engage in the struggles of life, to care of each other, and to serve Christ where we work and live. Our unity is in Christ.
In all, over 90 volunteers worked on the effort and over 250 households made gifts or commitments and contributed to the campaign’s success.
The church was assisted in the effort by Walsh & Associates, Church Capital Campaign Specialists, a Burnsville, Minnesota based fundraising consulting firm with offices throughout the country.
First Lutheran Church has been a part of our local community since 1870. For more information on this topic or to schedule an interview with Pastor Dan Warnes, please call us at 402-488-0919.
